Winter Nightmare
The ringing of the church bell
In the cold winter night
The echoing screams of souls in hell
Chill your bones and fill you with fright
The crunching of frozen grass
Cold beneath your feet
The nightmares will soon come
The ghouls watch closely through stained glass
Your heart beats like a drum
So fast you can almost dance to the beat
The moon sits patiently
And awaits your fate
The shadows creep so silently
It seems to be too late
A past that you thought you forgot
But in memories, forgotten, it is not
The sky that was once blue
Has been covered in a shade of black
They're creeping up behind you
Run! And never look back
Don't stare into its eyes
Because it will stare into your soul
It will tear out your heart
Listen to the cries
Of the souls scarred with holes
Where the demon ripped them apart
Gargoyles watch over, cold as the snow
Are they watching you?
No one will know
So what can you do?
Run and hide
Find a safe place
Lock the doors and hide
Be gone! And leave no trace
Ghosts of your past
Memories of when you cried
Returning at last
Memories of when they died
The church bell rang
You stop and stare
You watched them hang
In your winter nightmare
